ReDefeat Bush

Posted by DavidNYC

Maybe you don't have a car and a spare weekend. Maybe you've forgotten how to hand-write a letter after all those years sitting in front of your computer. Don't worry, I still have a way for you to get involved with voter registration efforts in swing states.

It's called ReDefeat Bush, and they organize events where volunteers register voters in battleground states by phone. Go ahead & check `em out.

What's the letter link supposed to go to?

Also, I worry about all these "Register Voter" things...The important part about registering voters is followup, to continue the conversation. A newly registered voter is an unlikely voter.

That's what ACT does, register and followup. I'm more worried about "vigilante" voter reg efforts, where they'll probably register and forget. Fortunately, Driving Votes seems to encourage their volunteers to hookup with ACT or other local groups. I wish that was more explicit though.

Link fixed, thanks. Supposed to go to MMOB. MMOB is also a partner with ACT. And based on my discussions with the people behind MMOB and Driving Votes, all three groups (those two plus ReDefeat Bush) are planning on working together. So hopefully this means that these groups plan on doing followup as well.
