Republican Scum Compare Ginny to Hezbollah

Posted by DavidNYC

I wish I were making this up, but I am seething, just positively seething right now. The bottom-feeding scum at the NRCC have put out an unthinkably vile flyer which has the gall to link Ginny Schrader to Hezbollah, a group which is on the State Department's list of Foreign Terrorist Organizations.

Ginny, to her extraordinary credit, has refused to put up with this outrage. During a debate last night, she demanded that her opponent, Mike Fitzpatrick, apologize for the flyer. When Fitzpatrick refused, Ginny left the debate. Good for her!

So if this doesn't motivate you to give Ginny some turkee, I don't know what will. We just can't let an extremist like Fitzpatrick win, especially not when his support is coming from such wretched quarters.

We've raised over $700 since this final fundraising push began. I'd love to hit $1000 by midnight tomorrow so that Ginny can get out one last mailing to her district, to combat this garbage. The one bit of good news here is that if the NRCC is sending out such an atrocious piece of mail, it means they are beyond desperate right now and are running very, very scared. Let's put the final nail in their coffin.

The RNCC is such a disgrace to this country. What scares me is that half of the country thinks like the vile that put out that flyer. Just look at a map of the U.S. The blue states are the one's that except and respect diversity, culture and open-mindedness. The red states (for the most part) are the one's where the 3 G's rule. Gods,Guns&Gays. They are very "conservative" and hate change. I hope the best for Ginny; God bless her and GO GINNY!

I have to confess that despite the frequent
postings about Ginny, I have no idea who
she is, what she is running for, where she
is running, or why she is always referred
to by her first name. It kind of reminds
me of the "Jeb!" campaign.

Despite all that, you wore me down and I
just sent her some money.

So, good luck in your election Ginny,
whatever and where ever it may be.

Well, Rob, I'm glad you contributed! For more on Ginny, check out Chris's original post on her here. You should also swing by her website.

As for the "Ginny!" stuff, well, I think she has a catchy and somewhat uncommon first name, which is more memorable than "Schrader." So it stuck!

Okay I did some research and see she is
running for Congress in a Philly suburb.

Never been to Philly. I have been to
Pennslyvania (sp?), used to go camping and
rafting at Ohiopyle state park every year.

So now I have a vested interest in a
campaign in the Philly suburbs. You never
know where life is going to take you. All
the people I know from Philly are a lot of
fun.

GO GINNY!! YOU GO GIRL!!!

I just broke down and contributed as well.
Man, that flyer pissed me off to no end.
Hopefully it has the same effect on the
people in her district.

How is she faring in tracking polls? She
must be doing okay if she's the target of
crap like that.

So let me get this straight. Ginny Schrader, who by all accounts wishes to represent the state of Pennsylvania to the best of her abilities, is a traitor in the eyes of the right-wing hackjobs who rule the Republican Party because:

A. She didn't support the missile defense programs which did so much good when two gigantic jumbo-jets moved in slo-mo and destroyed the WTC;

B. Doesn't support Shrub's BS pre-emtive strike doctrine, which has gone so well in Iraq;

C. Doesn't support repealing my civil rights, which include my right to post on this thread;

D. Doesn't support repealing the rights of gay people;

E. And had the idea that she could get a ton of publicity campaigning outside of a theater showing a movie which was destined to be extremely popular to to the right's shrill cries of "slander"?

Clearly the Republicans have no respect for decency. When they lose on Tuesday, let's all enjoy a big laugh, knowing their third-class behavior got them zip.

Oh yeah: And because Hezbollah endorses Fahrenheit 9/11, she is all of a sudden in bed with the terrorists? Last I checked. Michael Moore was a gun-loving American, not an Iranian extremist. Good God, there is no level they won't stoop to.

But you have to admit, this is a serious problem, these Hezbollah terrorists. Why, just the other day a Hezbollah terrorist shot a 13-year-old girl in the back, then "confirmed the kill" by repeatly shooting her in the head at point-blank range.

No, I'm sorry, that was somebody else -- somebody else whose endless demands and vilification of their enemies virtually the entire Congress reacts to with the kind of servile eagerness one associates with B-movie hunchbacks.

Somebody ought to send out a flyer about that.

I agree that the flier was a dispicable thing to print. However, why should Schrader have to apologize for it? He did not endorse it or pay for it. It did not come from his campaign. He should not have to apologize for something he did not do.

Guys word out of Broward County in Florida is that 60,000 ballots absante ballots are missing. I tell you guys they can never get it right in the demcratic counties of Florida. Also in the news Fox and Friends all morning was bitching about how in Ohio more people were registered to vote then actually lived in the counties. They are so damn jealous that the democrates did an awesome job with the get out the vote effort that they want to deligitamize the whole process before next Tuesday. When Bush looses in Ohio you can already hear the whining.

Godfrey:
It is an "awesome" get out the vote if 70+% of your party actually go vote. It is a crime if 100+% get out to vote. The news is just reporting what needs to be investigated.

Where can we find out more about the Broward ballots? I did a google search and just found a story about some complaints in Palm Beach County about undelivered ballots.

I was listening to NPR and we are obviously the ONLY first world country that allows election s to be overssen by aprtisan elected Secreataries of State and run by volunteers. Real reform would mean non-partisan/bipartisan commissions overseeign a professional civil service ... we are a modern nation oeprating with third-world/ 200-year old procedures ...

I looked at the Miami Herald but saw nothing about Broward County having problems. On a positive note, they did say that the lines for early voting are tremendous. It looks like a heavy turnout in South Florida:

"Long lines snaked through early-voting sites in Miami-Dade and Broward counties Tuesday as voters waited up to three hours to cast ballots in the Nov. 2 election."

It looks like we will have to depend on winning OH, IA, and WI. Jeb's secret army has seemed to infiltrate the post office in Broward County. I guess since Katherine Harris is now in D.C. Jeb needs other people to do his evil doings.

Well, there may still be time to send additional ballots out, and those people can still vote walk-in. I think the 60K number is probably overblown, it seems impossibly high.

Are the exit polls worthless now? The county I live in is expected to have about 180,000 votes. As of Monday, 60,000 have voted early. The exit polls might show information about the 2/3 that vote on Election Day, but what about the early voters? Do they have people taking exit polls now in places like Texas and Florida which allow early voting?

Going through recent polls and comparing them with before, my feelings are mixed.

Ohio seems to be tending Kerry after a long time being undecided, and Colorado seems to be coming into play seriously. But Florida looks like it's going to Bush now, and he might be picking up IA, WI, NM too.

If we are to believe the polls, the main battleground seems to be switching towards the smaller swing states. Kerry has to defend OH and MN; Bush has to defend FL. To win (without FL) Kerry will then need WI or CO or 2 out of IA-NM-AK-WV. If he loses HI, add one state more.

Oops... Little correction, being European I don't have those state abbreviations in my head correctly... Where in my last message I wrote 'AK', I meant Arkansas (AR), not Alaska...

As a NJ Bush supporter who believes that we need a strategic solution to terror and not a police response to terrorists, I have to let you know that I agree with you that that flyer's a bit over-the-top. BUT, I must also let you know that Hezzbollah DID INDEED OFFER to distribute "Fahrenheit 9-11" throughout the MidEast. The flyer is factual.

Speaking of F 911, a friend of mine who works as an expat in Oman told me that the movie played for only one day in theaters there before it was banned by the pro-US Sultan.

Also, as far as strategic solutions to terror go, we know what Bush's solution is -- invade a third country, spend $200B, cost us 1100 Amrican lives ..
