Fighting Democrats in 2006

Posted by Bob Brigham

Markos and Air America Radio are working to draw attention to the large number of Fighting Democrats running in 2006.

Majority Report producer Josh Orton has put together a Fighting Dems site which includes information about the featured candidates, links to archived segments, and a roster of upcoming features.

Check out the discussion on Fighting Democrats Bryan Lentz and David Ashe. Despite the attempts of many DC Democrats to avoid Iraq, the Fighting Democrat meme is a cover story in the 2006 narrative. It is inspiring to see these leaders step-up to serve again.

I like his website and all, but Markos sounds like a girl on the radio.

Murphy race will be a slight barometer for how we do nationally because is exactly the type of candidate I think can win and a race we should win. Murphy's young, handsome, charismatic and has one helluva story. Fitzpatrick's a career politician and he's a one-term congressman so he has no seniority which means no pork which means that his district has no loyalty towards him. Finally, this is a district that Kerry and Gore both carried. If we can't win that seat, I don't think 2006 will be the year everyone's hoping it is

Ah, I don't think he sounds like a girl -- just a bit of a young geek.

I like the "I've been on the streets in Iraq patrolling all day every day for 5 months." This gives him even more credit than someone like Hackett that saw limited "duty" in Iraq. Yes, I do realize that no place in Iraq is safe, but surely everyone would agree that a soldier on the streets had a greater potential for harm.

Limited duty? What the fuck do you know about Hackett's service? Have you talked to him about it? Have you served with him? If not shut up.

Yeah, Hackett's convoy was ambushed, remember. I wouldn't speak so cavalierly about his "duty"--which involved dodging bullets, bub.
