Posted by Bob BrighamResults are slowly coming in. Here are the latest results.

For those keeping score, the first six initiatives are the Schwarzenegger slate, the final two are good initiatives that ended up on the ballot because of idiots who decided a "no on everything" would be too easy for the voters to remember.
UPDATE (David): So much for that. "No" carries the day on all seven initiatives. Nice waste of time & money, Ahnuld.

Just got home from a very long day working at the polls in Atherton, CA. I'm an "Inspector" which means I run a precinct polling station. We had a higher turnout than I expected. A high turnout in this area is bad for Arnold. Lots of resentment that we had this "special" election that cost a lot and is nothing but special-interest ballot initiatives, when we have a general election coming in March. But I haven't looked at or heard about any results yet. Having a nice, cold beer.

Looks like all five of the propositions will fail. Parental notification for abortions and the union dues prop (the scariest of all) are still mathematically vulnerable with 15% of the vote left, but most of the remaining precincts are in Los Angeles, Alameda (Oakland, Berkeley), and San Bernardino Counties. All of Orange County is in and the vast majority of San Bernardino and Kern Counties are in along with essentially all of the rural areas. Unless the entire remaining vote in LA County is in the Republican part of the county, all five will be defeated. I had quite a scare for the first two hours on the union dues proposition however.
