Beantown
Posted by DavidNYCI'm up in Boston for a few days visiting friends, so posting will be slow. I've been here a few times before but have never really done the touristy things. Any suggestions on things one should do or see?

I like to go to Faneuil Hall, have a couple cherrystones and beer. But, the nice thing about Boston is that you can just walk and walk and walk.

It's fun to walk along Mass Ave on the Cambridge accross the river and visit all the book stores between MIT and Harvard Yard.
The Science Museum is good (on the bridge over the Charles River near the Fleet Center).
The Freedom Trail is a series of historic (revolutionary war) sites to visit, following a line of red bricks in the pavement. Thinking about the guys who were fighting against the British in the 18th century could help you put our current political problems in a different perspective.

A pint at Doyles, the classic pol bar. Used to see Ray Flynn shitfaced there. The MIT museum is small but cool. Robots and neato mechanical sculptures.

When you do the walk in Cambridge, spend some time in Harvard Sq. Have a hamburger and a frappe at Bartley's.
Lot's of great seafood - I like Skipjacks. The Kennedy Library is very well done.
