VA-Sen: Is James Webb Out?

Posted by DavidNYC

Lowell at Raising Kaine is reporting that James Webb won't take on George Allen in VA-Sen this year. I have no reason to doubt the folks at RK, but I haven't been able to find an official confirmation from Webb. If true, though, then this is bad news indeed. James Webb is an exciting guy to me - I just can't say the same about Harris Miller, who is a Herb Kohl at best.

I received an email, Feb 2, from Webb himself in which he said he had not decided one way or the other about the Senate race. Such a decision is not one to be taken lightly, so he said he is being very "thorough" about the whole matter.
I emailed Lowell and he said that since I had Webb had written me after he had spoken with him, Webb "must be reconsidering."
Webb can be contacted personally via his webpage www.JamesWebb.com. That is one way to send encouragement.
I do not blame him for his delay. Making the leap would over-night change you from private to public citizen, with all its trappings and headaches....

I hope he makes the leap. Virgina needs him.
