NJ-07: Not Mike Ferguson
Posted by DavidNYCFrom the guys who brought you Dump Mike, their newest effort: Not Mike Ferguson. You see, the real Mike Ferguson has decided to scrub his website of any connection to George Bush (whose popularity in New Jersey is so low, it must now be measured in scientific notation). But Not Mike Ferguson sets the record straight, detailing exactly who Fergie's friends are, and where his priorities lie - a valuable public service!

I've never quite understood where this district is in New Jersey. Is it the far northern suburbs in Bergen and Paterson Counties or is in the south metro near Monmouth County? I've seen it's a lean-GOP area, but how vulnerable is Ferguson considered to be? If memory serves me, we had a strong candidate (Marine Steve Brozak) in this district in 2004 but still got pounded.

Mark, you know about this site, right?
Also, the Blue 7th folks seem to think that Linda Stender is a much stronger candidate that Brozak. Stender's a state legislator. Brozak, from what I recall, did not have prior elective experience.

Mark - Brozak was a phenomenal candidate on paper; Iraq War vet; wall street exec; former PR flack for the Army; reformed Republican. But it just didn't come together for him. He raised less than $900,000 and that just isn't enough.
Stender has already raised almost $400,000 and got the Emily's List nod last week. She will probably be on the Red to Blue list of the DCCC soon, as well.
There's a real shot this time!

David, thanks a million. I've seen the maps cut-and-pasted from that website but didn't know where they came from. Now I have all kinds of interesting things to look at instead of doing my work. :)
