The Roaring Twenties
Posted by DavidNYCWondering who's gonna win Josh Marshall's pool?
Answer: We all do. Well, the other 71% of us, anyhow.
Know that tomorrow, no matter how bad your day is, George Bush's will almost certainly be worse.
UPDATE: Ha! A commenter at DKos points out that the Kansas City Royals, with a 10-22 record (ie, 31%), are doing better than George Bush. Yow.... that's GOTTA hurt.

This is amazing...
More important than the Shrub being in the tank, are the poll numbers from the Congressional races.
And yet, they went and passed the Billionaires Relief Act. I figure they figure "hey- we're screwed, but as long as we're in control , we better feather our nests while we can."
I think that we may see more and more reckless, insane "Kamikaze" legislation until the end of this session.

Bush is also approaching the winning percentages put up by the Pirates and Marlins.

Probably about the time gas prices hit $4.00 per gallon he tanks out at 28%.
Lets just hope that he is still under 45% by November, and unless the Rove gang can pull any major rabbits out of hats that should be no problem.

The disadvantage for the Republicans of using the NSA spying as a campaign issue (in the hope of smearing Democrats as weak on national security) is that it forces Republicans in Congress to rally around Bush at a time when he's a very unpopular lame duck they'd prefer to be distancing themselves from. I guess Rove is hoping the issue can bring Bush's approval numbers up, but that could be a stretch.

They think that immigration is the new wedge issue that will keep the GOP in power.

Maybe Ohanon, but what they might gain in white conservatives on this issue they may lose in the Latino vote they've been ardently courting.

Predictor.... but what Dems gain in Hispanic they may lose in Blacks who are most affected by the flux of illegals willing to work for low wages.

UVA08 - Firstly I didn't say the Dems would gain Hispanic vote, just that the Repubs have been arduously courting it and that may no longer be successful.
As to your comment about "Blacks": Dem gains in the Asian vote, may make-up for any loss in the Afram vote in the next decade (or so) as the Asian population outpaces African-American. This has already happened in CA.
