Tuesday Primary Open Thread
Posted by DavidNYCPlease feel free to use this thread for any and all discussions pertaining to tonight's primaries in CT, CO, GA, MI & MO :
• If you have predictions, make `em.• If you know of any good sites for tracking election results, tell us.
• If you've been reading any good local blogs covering these races, share `em with us.
• And if there are any overlooked races you've got on your mind, let us know.
RBH has an excellent run-down on the major races here. You can find poll closing times here.
UPDATE: Going by the Courant's numbers, my back-of-the-envelope says that Joe would need 79% of the remainder in order to win. I just don't see how that's possible. I think we just pulled out a serious nailbiter - and helped write an amazing bit of history.

Predictions:
CT-Sen.
Lamont 52
Lieberman 48
GA-4
Johnson 56
McKinney 44
A race I'm excited about is PA-7, where Democrat Joe Sestak is taking on Republican noodlebrain Curt Weldon.
Check out Joe here:

Lieberman's website is non-functional, he's accusing the Lamont campaign of hacking into it and taking it off line, maybe Joe just forgot to pay the bill?

Unless there's some silent majority out there who was planning to sit out the Connecticut primary until they saw how big of trouble Lieberman was in, I expect Lamont will win 56-44. I wouldn't be surprised if it even more lopsided than that.
Johnson over McKinney by six.
Perlmutter over Lamm by 10.
Bouchard over Butler by 20.
Schwarz over Walberg by two.

Like most others, I'm most interested in the Lamont-GIJOE fight. I predict a Lamont victory of 52-48. However, I wouldn't be surprised if Joe pulls it out. It should be a good one nonetheless.
I also predict a Perlmutter victory of Lamm. Ed has ran a real strong campaign so far, I'm pretty sure he'll pull out a victory. 55-45

CQpolitics has a good rundown on the Colorado and Connecticut primaries for tonight. Also, from their battleground dispatches, they have Perlmutter leading 49-37 over Lamm. As always, take these numbers with a grain of salt.

In MI, Stabenow is going to get an opponent today. Look for Bouchard (Oakland County Sheriff) to win, and Dick Devos to take Keith Butler - the other candidate for Senate - to be taken as the Lt. Gov. Candidate on their side.

I could only find one news site with a template for early returns through google. Nothing is up yet, but here's the link for later:

I know everyone is focusing on Lamont-Lieberman but I am hoping Cynthia McKinney goes down. What an embarassment.

Abraham... has posted a set of CT primary results sites and schedule.

He did a much better job of googling than I did!

I can't load MyDD or DailyKos! Lieberman must have hacked it. Maybe he borrowed Ted Stevens's tubes.
On a more serious note, 53-47 Lamont

Does it look like we can win this thing?

*sigh*
SI Conservative, I'd like you to meet Jon Tester and Jim Webb. Or anyway, the concepts of Jon Tester and Jim Webb.
And that's without going further back in history. Don't make me say Barack Obama, ok?

Those really wanting to sound off on Missouri politics, especially Jackson County politics; in an environment where no one will think you need to get back on your thorazine, feel free to stop by Blue Girl, Red State people from Missouri can find updates and info on races there, and all are welcome to leave comments about the races they are watching.
There will be a direct mathematically provable correlation between how much Shiner Bock I consume and how verbose the updates become. You have no idea how hard I have worked this summer; for this moment.

Looks like I spoke a little too soon. Congrats, guys. And thank you. You´ve just rescued the midterms for us by showing that Democrats are not serious about national security. You might end up with Sen. Ned Lamont. You might.
Fortunately, though, Senators Conrad Burns, Jim Talent, George Allen, and Mike DeWine will be there to keep him in check.

Meanwhile in Georgia, Hank Johnson defeats Cynthia McKinney by around 16 points

It's hard to comprehend the level of delusion that leads someone to believe that Conrad Burns will win reelection by making Ned Lamont's primary victory a campaign issue in Montana.
That's positively hilarious.

I see some neo-con freeper is on the loose. They love jumping the gun, and are usually WRONG!
Damned, wish I had made wagers on my predictions!
Word to incumbents, esp. the GOP, the wave is coming, tonight was an indication that Congress will be looking alot different after the Nov. elections.
