Weekly Open Thread: School Daze Edition
Posted by James L.So I started my final year of schoolin' (at least for this degree) last week, and I haven't quite mastered the balancing act of studying, blogging, and other obligations just yet. Thanks for your patience as I try to adjust to my new schedule.
So. It's open thread time! Who's up, who's down, who's in, who's out. What's the word, daddio?

Paul Hodes made the Red to Blue list.
http://www.hodesforcongress.com/newsroom_details.asp?id=846
(And I have it, with very little elaboration, at http://blue-granite.blogspot.com/2006/09/hodes-makes-red-to-blue-list.html)
Makes me pretty happy, anyway.

David would be so proud. That's really great to hear.
Any word on other new additions to the program? The DCCC website hasn't posted an update about this yet, as far as I can tell.

I know, David's missing all the excitement for his silly little honeymoon.
All I know is that Hodes was added; their press release doesn't list anyone else and like you I can't find anything about it on the DCCC website.

I am most interested in McCaskill for senate in Missouri. I will be on a two week vacation, taking my family to Niagara Falls. Does anyone know the address of a Clinton for Senate office in or near Buffalo? I want to drop a donation by and pick up some signs and stuff.
Thanks

I haven't seen many mentions of the red hot race in CA-25. A few months ago I went to dinner with the dynamic young Democratic challenger, Robert Rodriguez, and was mightily impressed. Today at 11 AM (PT) Robert's going to be Blue America's featured guest at Firedoglake and will answer questions about his campaign to unseat rubber stamp Republican Buck McKeon. I've got an advance up at Down With Tyranny now.
But before you dismiss this as a pipe dream, keep this in mind: the sprawling 25th district (from northeast L.A. as far north as Sacramento!) became a minority-white CD last year. And Robert's former job was head of the California Voter Registration Project. This is a very under-the-radar district and maybe the Democrats' (and, more important, progressives') best chance to pick up a new seat in the Golden State.
