  1. He seems like a genuine, good person, who sincerely means everything he says. I’m glad he’s on our side, and I hope he wins.

  2. Halter has some chance in primary, with relatively (at least by Arkansas standards) left-leaning electorate, though, frankly speaking, i am not sure even about that. But all polling i saw shows him to be very weak General election candidate. It’s more likely then not, that his political careeer is over…

  3. But if Lincoln is going down in any event, might as well send a warning to other corporate Dems. And maybe this will get interesting.

  4. I don’t think he has a snowball’s chance in hell of winning the general. He’s throwing his career away, much like Joe Sestak is. The only good thing that could from this is that it might force Lincoln to the left.

  5. Halter has a very good chance of winning both the primary and the general elections.  Folks here are pissed at Blanche Lincoln across the board, and the general consensus is it’s time for her to go.  And I promise you, I’ve seen Halter in action, and he stands a much better chance against the Republicans than Lincoln does.  As for those polls, those of you dismissing his chances didn’t take a good look at the crosstabs apparently.  Each of those polls (even the crappy PPP poll) had Halter with good favorables (much better than Lincoln’s) and some high unknowns.  Those that know of him like him, and he’s got plenty of room to grow.

I am psyched about this move.  Here in Arkansas, we pulled off a grassroots effort, phonebombing Halter’s office, sending him emails, pledging donations and volunteer time, etc.  Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m on cloud nine, and really need to stop before I start babbling.
