UT-Gov: Huntsman Primaries the Party Faithful

As mentioned on today’s issue of Politics1.com: http://www.politico.com/news/s…

Huntsman says, against conventional wisdom (at least for the Republican base), that their party can’t be a party of “no”, among other things.

Sorry, I couldn’t think of a funnier title for this diary.  If you can, please do suggest it.

Also, a question: Is Utah so Republican that there are Republicans who are more liberal than Democrats there (as I’ve heard there are Democrats in Massachusetts who are more conservative than Republicans)?

  1. I actually liked what I heard from him.  While I would never support it over a Democratic ticket, a Crist/Huntsman ticket in 2012 would do a lot of good for the nation.

We need an intelligent opposition party.  Palin, Jindal, and Huckabee can sit down.  Huntsman and Crist should stand up.

  2. …a few years back from someone from Utah.  The Republican Party by in-large is the party of the Mormons.  While the Democratic Party is by-inlarge the party of everyone else.  Or at least this is the way it works on the local level.  The way for a Democrat to win is to be able to eat into the Mormon vote.

As I know little else about Utah that I haven’t seen on “Big Love” can’t vouch for anything I just said.
