Democratic U.S. Rep. Rick Larsen has held off a challenge by Republican challenger John Koster to win re-election to Washington state’s 2nd Congressional District.
With nearly all of the expected vote counted in early returns, Larsen led by 4,408 votes, and held 51 percent of the vote, compared to Koster’s 49 perent.
Larsen trailed Koster by less than 1,500 votes after the initial count on election night last week, but took the lead on Wednesday and has steadily increased it.

Whew. Koster kept it closer than I would have thought. Anyway, now it’s really just down to Costa regaining the lead in CA-20 and McNerney maintaining his narrow edge in CA-11 and Democrats will not have lost any seats on the West Coast except for the open WA-03, which was in any case closer than expected.
Will Costa do the same? Any updates there?
And they have an independent comission of some sort. Does 6-4 Dem sound right to all of you how things will end up. I doubt that both Reichert and Herrera could get safe districts and there is a new GOP one.
And isn’t his a 70% Obama district?
Stephen had Larsen as one of the Better Know a District Congressmen he talked with that had lost.
With KY-6, CA 11, CA 20, IL 8, TX 27, NY 1 and NY 25 still not resolved.
