MN-Sen: “Juicy Porn”

Don’t be alarmed by the title; the link is work-safe.

“Foul-mouthed attacks on anyone he disagrees with. Tasteless, sexist jokes. Writing all that juicy porn.”

It’s Norm Coleman’s newest ad against Al Franken. I’m just left shaking my head. On the one hand, this is such a cliched and overly broad exaggeration of how Washington (both parties, I’m afraid) visualizes the swing-voting blue-collar slob demographic that I have to hope this blows up in their faces. On the other hand, the ad goes right at Franken’s Achilles heel and keeps hammering at it… so expect to see more of exactly this for the next three months.

  1. This race, I think we’ll have to point to these ads as the beginning of his fall.

Up to this point I’ll give the Coleman campaign credit, that other than that poorly made ad with his wife he’s run a pretty flawless campaign.

But you simply do not try to match wits with a comedian, it really is like bringing a knife to a gun fight

  2. Rasmussen is consistent with his previous poll.

How can he be an outlier twice in a row?

w/ leaners: (not in 7/10 article)

    Franken 49

    Coleman 46

    w/o leaners: (7/10 in parenthesis)

    Franken 43 (44)

    Coleman 44 (42)

  3. were watching tv tonight and this ad came on and Franken’s attack ad of Coleman being a big Bushy.  She certainly thought the ad was dumb and calling out Coleman for being a Bush cronie was better.
