The OR R’s candidate for Dist. 1 decided to run as an Indie instead of a Repub, leaving the Rs candidateless….
Also a question: I know the DSCC can’t mention or support the Democratic candidate in their ads, but aren’t they at least allowed to call or identify Smith as a Republican? (since so many Repubs across the country are running away from that label)
The DSCC ads are really good. I loved how they have been attacking Republicans for their support of the Iraq war from a military, and economic standpoint. The DSCC’s money is the only thing that is going to keep Merkley in the game considering Gordon has a lot more money than him. I would love to see a recent poll of this race to see how effective the DSCC ads have been, and the several Gordon and third party ads.
