OK-Sen: Gap Narrows Slightly, But Inhofe Still Well Ahead in New Poll

SurveyUSA (9/28-29, likely voters, 9/5-7 in parens):

Andrew Rice (D): 37 (34)

Jim Inhofe (R-inc): 53 (56)

Stephen Wallace (I): 7 (6)

(MoE: ±3.9%)

A 22-point lead becomes a 16-point lead. Still an incredibly tough race, but some signs of life, perhaps?

On the Presidential side, McCain leads Obama by 64-34 in Oklahoma — that’s down ever so slightly from 65-32 earlier in the month. Despite all the bad economic news as of late, the needle hasn’t moved much at the top the ticket in this state.

  1. Inhofe is winning them only 61-30.  The Presidential race was also polled and Obama was winning them by only 4 pts.

Do Democrats get elected at any level in that state?

  2. to preach global warming to the church communities. They might hate him like the plague on other issues, but they are probably against Bush and Inhofe messing with gods creation.

The were very active some years ago against the Oil Company Cerr-McGee when they started drilling for oil in Africa’s last colony, Western Sahara. They have a history for activism that should be tapped into. When it comes to global warming, Inhofe is the devil.

Also, Wes Clark should campaign for Rice.

  3. I’m no longer considering OK, NE, TX, ID, KS remotely competitive.  ME I still have hope but these seats should all cease to be seriosuly on our radar until polling says otherwise.  They are all running fantastic campaigns but it’s time to face the facts, none of them will come remotely close to winning.

GA and KY are the new TX and KS.

  4.    He is not lifting a finger for Rice.  Screw him.  I hate these red state Democratic governors who do nothing to build the party.  Another bad example of this is Freudenthal in Wyoming (Trauner for Congress anyone?).  It seems like Napolitano and Sebelius get it at least.  Does anyone know if any statewide officeholders in Oklahoma are helping Rice?
