GA-Sen: Money Where My Mouth Is

Enough talking the talk – time to walk the walk. Here’s the deal, folks: I am going to donate $500 to Jim Martin’s campaign today. The catch is that this is a match – if SSP readers pony up $500 of your own today, then you’ll get double your value, since I’ll come in on top of that with $500 from my own checkbook.

Because I have faith in you guys, we’re gonna up the goal one last time, to $4600 – the equivalent of a very generous patron giving a double-max donation to the Martin campaign. Martin undoubtedly didn’t get too many double-maxes, seeing as he didn’t get much buzz until very recently. But we can make up that gap.

So please – give today. Your money will go twice as far, and Jim Martin needs every penny he can get.

  1. I have contributed several times to Martin, including once on this drive.  I thought I was reaching a maxed out point.

Still, making David spend his money is so very tempting.  Hope others will join me in giving him the push to match us.  I am heading over for another contribution.

  2. I was going to wait until I got paid Wednesday to donate because I had a ton of hours these last couple weeks with a bunch of personnel gone but you guys have officially received my final non-Obama donation today (I think Im going to drop another c-note for BO after 10/15).  David’s talk and walk, his swagger, is impressive and impossible to resist.  You guys got me in for a $100.

As a side note I always planned on donating to Jim Martin when he got close and the fact that he did it so quickly is remarkable.  I remember in 2002 when saxby ran those ads and how upset my Grandfather was when he heard about and saw them.  My Grandpa served in the reconstruction effort in Austria following WW2, served in Korea and did two tours in Vietnam as a platoon sergeant before getting shot twice in the leg.  He has told me stories of holding dying men from his platoon in his arms as they passed.  The man is one of my idols and a true hero and patriot.  He is also a fervent Democrat from Oklahoma.  Every time I see that chambliss ad it makes me sick and angry.  I am very close to both my Grandma and Grandpa and cannot stand to see them upset.  If I could max out myself to Martin alone I would, but I cannot and I am sure many of you here at SSP have similar stories and feel the same way I do.  I hope one day to meet both Cleland and Martin.  They are honorable, heroic men like my Grandfather.  Chambliss is a despicable, repugnant tiny man who has earned a special spot in Hell.

I cannot thank you guys enough for endorsing Martin as earnestly as you have.  I love this site and its people.  You certainly have made a loyal reader, and now donater, out of me.  Lets get to $4600 today.
