  1. I hope everyone realizes that Minnick, Kratovil, and Periello (should he hold on, which I think he will) will be very vulnerable in 2010.

  2. Hopefully he holds this until 2012 when we can draw him a much more Democratic district.  I believe as it is the district has a Democratic registration advantage.

  3.    This seat could not have been won in ANY other circumstances.  I was listening to the Wicomico County Republican Chairman on election night, and he sounded genuinely shocked that Kratovil was leading.

I would like to join the chorus in thanking/laughing at the Club for Growth.  Please run candidates against Jim Gerlach, Charlie Dent, Mike Castle, and Arlen Specter in 2010.  (Can anyone else think of any other possible Republican targets?)  They voted to give health insurance to children.  TO CHILDREN!  The bastards must be defeated, Mr. Toomey.

You missed this Toomey in pop culture: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v

  4. It appears that McCain won this district by 58%-41%.  There are a lot of old Southern Democrats on the Eastern Shore that dont like Obama but will vote for a Conservative local Democrat like Kratovil.

  5. Wiki says the district is evenly divided between democrats and republicans. As long as Kratovil survives 2010 I’m sure that district can be redrawn in 2011 to make it a tossup district.

  6. After losing in two years Minnick will take over for LaRocco and be the best the Democrats can offer, but he’ll lose anyway.  We need guys like that, but in the short run he’s got no shot to hold the seat or win anything better.

  7. There are 81,000 ballots outstanding.

Absentee and early ballots (2/3rd of that total) will be counted next Wednesday.

The other 1/3rd, questioned ballots will be counted later next week or even early the following one.

According to the Election division, Begich is leading Stevens 59-37 in the early ballots that have already been counted.

We’re going to win this one.
