Annual Roll Call

Well, you see, on Dkos DelwareDem posts an annual roll call ever so often and most of the sites active users post a bit on it. I've never seen on on this site, and pieces fly by to slowly for me not to catch them. (For instance after I posted my last entry it was over three days before anyone else posted another one). It's an idea I thought would be interesting, to see just how many active users we have on this site, and find out a little about all of you. This site deserves it's own Roll Call, so let's get started , (and for those Kossacks here you should be fairly familiar with this).

Here are some instructions, (more guidelines but it's pretty damned useful if you follow this format):

Username and User ID
Age, (optional)
Location
Political Ideology (optional)
education (optional)
Religous affilitiation (optional)

Just for the hell of it, whether you post on or read Daily Kos, (I've always wondered how many of you are also Kossacks).

Then Finally, comments or anythign else you would like to say. Kinda of like an open thread I guess.

And, if you are uncomforatble with releasing some of those catergories, then please, by all means leave them blank. On the other hand, let's start an open thread as well, and let it be on anything no matter who pointless.

P.S. Please vote in the poll. Not just for the normal reasons of curiousites sake, but so I can know, roughly, by percentage what parts of the country this site's members hail from.

By what margin will Bob Shamansky win?

  1. got kinda of funky on me. This site doesn't let you go one space when you press enter, opr at least not for me, I'm automatically set on double spacing

    anyway, here goes nothing.

ArkDem the Ragin Cajin, (shoulda put cajun, but I wasn't thinking when signed up). UserID: 110

Lafayette, LA, (as I write this, live Monroe, LA)

I'm socially moderate-to-conservative, but at the end of the day I couldn't care less about most social issues, (with the exception of stem cell research which i am passionately for). But, I'm also an environmentalist, an internationalist against the Iraq War (in the first place I might add), and a devout, firey populist.

My Religous affiliation, I don't really know, I've been in the middle of a personal debate on relgion, for a while I wasn't sure I believed in God, but I'm starting to think my qualm is more with organized Religion. I feeling Deist today, so I'm going to say Deist.

I'm Liberal to Very Liberal (though as far as social issues go, I've got a real libertarian streak about me, I don't care about what people do in private)

I'm currently attending the University of New Mexico, hoping to get a degree in Political Science

    I'm an Atheist

I'd like to point out that while there is definitely a fine line between fighting for the sake of winning and fighting for your cause, never forget that you can't advance your cause unless you win.

And yeh I’m a kossack too.

Political Ideology – Progressive. For a better idea, I consider myself a Russ Feingold Democrat

And I read Daily Kos, but usually, I don't have the energy to post or comment. I'm not comfortable in crowded rooms, real or virtual.

  6. I am the Caped Composer, age 28, female, living in New York City.  I consider myself pretty liberal– my main reason for getting politically involved is to keep religion out of the government.  I believe strongly in the separation of church and state, and the GOP doesn't.  The fact that they mobilize a whole region of the country based upon hatred and fear, angers me deeply.  Thus, I'll do anything I can to advocate social justice and equality in America.

I have a Master of Arts degree from the University of Chicago, and I lived in the neighborhood of Hyde Park, where my state senator was some guy who was also on the faculty of the law school at the U of C.  Yes, folks, that's right, Barack Obama was ours before the rest of the state, and then the country, found out about him!

Oh, and why am I so committed to keeping religion out of the government?  Because I am a proud Jewish citizen, and I value the fact that my ancestors struggled and overcame life-threatening conditions to come to this country so as to practice their traditions freely, without having to live in fear of persecution.

  7. The Upper Midwest is typically thought of as the states that you are currently calling Lower Mid-West and the states you are currently calling Upper Mid-West or more often referred to as the Plains states.  Though I would shift Minnesota into the Upper Mid-West states.  Hubert Humprey was thought of as Wisconsin's 3rd Senator for a reason, the states are linked.  Including reciprocity agreements for University tuition.

I’m a mainstream liberal on most issues, but also fairly pragmatic about which candidates I support. It sounds kind of cliche, but I don’t have a litmus test – at least on ideological grounds.

I’m currently attending the University of Nebraska at Omaha where I hope to graduate with a B.S. in Political Science in May.
