Rice is humming along pretty well. I am told that Tester did not hit $1 Million raised until June 2006.
From the Campaign release:
In his filings for the FEC, Rice’s campaign reported raising $431,025 during the first three months of 2008, which brought his campaign fund raising total to $971,332 since he launched his bid for the Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate last fall. The campaign reported that since closing the books on the year’s first quarter, it has eclipsed the million-dollar mark in total money raised.
The Rice campaign also reported that at the close of the first quarter, it held cash on hand of $597,477.

It could be better but Oklahoma is a pretty cheap media market from what I understand.
Keep fighting Andrew!
If he can keep this pace up, I think he’ll do better than most people expect in November. He’s running a pretty effective campaign so far and hopefully he’ll get the netroots push he deserves.
With that said, I still say Inhofe is still a huge favourite to win.
This is really strong for Rice. His e-mail also says that he has 4,230 donors. Kudos to him.
Re the comparison to tester, remember that OK has a lot more voters than MT and will be a lot more expensive.
Rice is raising the money and putting together the organization he needs, Inhofe is rather unpopular, the environmental groups have got Inhofe in their sites, and he’s got a bad habit of opening his mouth and inserting both feet. This race is going to be Conrad Burns meets Richard Pombo.
That said, Rice still has a lot of work to do. He’s got to keep up the pace raising money and reaching out to people, and this is a conservative state. Besides that, this is one of the few red states where there aren’t more Obama coattails than Clinton coattails as evidenced by the results on Super Tuesday.
Still, if anyone can beat Inhofe, it’s Andrew Rice, and I’m pulling for him 1,000 percent!
David Walters raised $2,086,613 in 2002. So he’s close to halfway towards Walters total in April. I’m sure he could top $2.5M raised easily.
