MS-01: The NRCC Responds (For Real This Time)

In response to the DCCC’s decision to spend a whopping $700,000 in Mississippi on Wednesday, the NRCC has followed up with a $350,000 media buy against Travis Childers.

The new bill brings the NRCC’s total expenditures in this R+10 district to an eye-popping amount of $951,203.  To put that in perspective, that’s 13% of the NRCC’s cash-on-hand.

The DCCC has invested $1,143,668 on this race so far.

Special election: 5/13.

  1. what percentage of the DCCC’s COH is that $1,143,668?

And I assume those figures aren’t including the candidates’ own fundraising, nor 3rd parties, correct?

    These amounts are just staggering…

  2. Now, are all the effects of all this money already in place? I mean, does this 1.14 million that the DCCC spent already been used, or is some of it being set aside for later advertisements or mailing. How does it work?

  3. I talked to a close friend who attended a GOTV strategy meeting in Tupelo today.  They were focusing on the whole district and especially how to get the AA vote out.  He was very upbeat about the meeting.  This election is going to be all about who pulls off the GOTV better due to the voter fatigue.  This is the fourth time in 90 days that the the voters have been to the polls for MS-01.
