MI-11: Thaddeus McCotter’s Super Genius Plan to Save the GOP

I shit you not, my friends:

[GOP Rep. Thaddeus McCotter] also called for more out-of-the-box strategies, such as proposing a theme of “Nancy Pelosi, the San Francisco Threat,” sung to the tune of the Rice-a-Roni jingle.

God they are so fucked.

  1. . . . lacking in the creativity department! If a campaign is going to run a jingle intended to stick in everyone's ear, it needs to be an original jingle, rather like the one that brought Wyche Fowler down during Paul Coverdell's 1992 campaign in Georgia.  That one, at least, was original, which is why it stuck.

  2. Didnt they alread try to tie Nancy Pelosi to our Dems (Foster, Cazayoux, Childers) and no one cared?

I hate how effectively though the GOP has been able to slander as a bunch of city liberals (which a very large chunk of our party is though) into such a negative.  Hopefully, that is coming to an end since us city liberals actually know how to govern…

  3. Last cycle they tried this ad that had quarterback/football, San Francisco, and Heath Shuler.  My first thiught (and only one for a while) was:  Shuler played for the Redskins, not the 49ers.

Of course for the Republicans all you have to do is pronounce Boehner’s name Boner as in mistake as in … well, you know.

It’s a step too cute.  People like San Francisco.   What’s next on the secret gay bashing: New York City?  Ooh.

  4. I think it is time to trot them all out to the Whitehouse for another big group hug and cheer session!

Absolutely amazing how clueless they are. . .

  5. The dude is weird.  I mean, he’s really an odd duck.  You have to listen to him at length before you realize that he is a genuinely strange individual.

  6. the word “assclown,” but in this case, what are we doing giving this assclown a close-to-free pass this cycle? He’s in an R+1 district, with a lot of territory that was represented by a Dem until 2002 redistricting, and based on his suggestions, it seems like this assclown is a lot closer to Bill Sali than Tom Davis on the sliding scale of Republican political acumen.
