Not sure about these crosstabs though. In the poll Dems are 39%, republicans 30%, Indies 25%. Sounds a bit Dem skewed. But even adjusting for that it looks good for Obama.

The VA Senate race, in a way, reminds me of the race back in my home state of VT two years ago, when Jim Jeffords retired and now-Senator Bernie Sanders successfully ran to replace him. Polling similar to the Warner-Gilmore matchup showed Bernie consistently leading his no-name GOP opponent (Rich Tarrant) by ridculously wide margins. Bernie would go on to win that November 65% to 32%. Warner will do the same.
