We thought we’d shake things up this week by including a caption contest in our weekly thread of open banter. So let’s see what you can come up with for this photo of state Sen. Craig Johnson (D-NY):
Have at it!
(Belated hat-tip: The Albany Project)
Is that Ron Sparks photoshopped into the picture for no apparent reason?
“I am proud to announce that United Chickens of New York have endorsed my campaign.”
Caption:
“Thanks to the brave testimony of the victims’ families, we are closer than ever to catching the so-called ‘Colonel.’ Unfortunately, we have no leads on the other members his network, including his number 2, ‘Popeye.'”
One minority. One chicken. Need a woman.
If we are going to get any info on races. Who is Ron Sparks?
for those interested in the NY state senate, i’ve created a new facebook group, Let’s Take Back The New York State Senate.
hope you’ll join us.
‘Gosh darnit, I told the advance team, “No green screen!”‘
Recruited to be a Senate Candidate against Jeff Sessions. Will probably run for Gov. instead in 2008.
BTW – He is very much supporting Vivian Figures in Alabama despite what some claim about her getting him out of the race.
“My feathered friend is here to remind that unlike Joe Bruno, I am not a cock-knocker.”
Jill Long Thompson has chosen State Rep. Dennie Oxley to be her running mate, and he will be officially “confirmed” at the state Democratic Convention next weekend. While some liberals are probably going to grumble about this (he is a bluedog type — socially conservative, but seems pretty populist economically), I think politically it is a pretty smart pick.
As I’ve said in a couple of other threads, southern Indiana is likely going to be the swing region in this election. Thompson will do better than most Democrats in northern Indiana, and Daniels should clean up in central Indiana outside of Indianapolis. Oxley is a state rep from the very rural, southern part of the state. He’s a mixture of youth and experience — only in his late 30s but has already served a decade in the legislature, and is currently in the House leadership. And as an added bonus for my fellow gay men (OK, and straight women, too!), he’s not hard to look at!

I’m wondering if Young can do any damage if he loses the primary. Pretty vicious language coming from him, and I’d guess that at least part of of the AK GOP likes the guy…

One person…in this room…has a fowl mouth. And that person…is not me.
Chicken: Hohh–! It’s Ron Sparks!
Johnson: Huh? I don’t see a Ron Sparks anywhere. I refuse to believe your chicken-brained nonsense.
