Wow. If these results are accurate, Whitman apparently has one hell of a glass jaw. Whitman had the airwaves to herself for a long, long while, and Poizner has only recently responded on the air with attack ads of his own. We’ve seen evidence that this race was getting mildly close for a few weeks now, but this is something else.
Meanwhile, in the Senatorial primary, ex-Rep. Tom Campbell maintains a clear edge on the GOP field:
Tom Campbell (R): 35 (34)
Carly Fiorina (R): 24 (27)
Chuck DeVore (R): 15 (14)
Tim Kalemkarian (R): 3 (3)
Undecided: 23 (23)
(MoE: ±4.3%)
moral is that money can’t always buy elections.
However, Whitman is about to join Corzine in several weeks.
Campbell is more moderate and a better campaigner, but he’s also already lost a statewide race and he’ll be broke coming out of the primary. I almost worry more about the 100 million or so Fiorina could ante down than Campbell.
I find it amusing how Chuck DeVore is just an irrelevant loser. Even Sarah Palin doesn’t care about him.
Just now, they poll not the general against J Brown.
M Whitman down? S Poizner up? both options?
