As you know by now on saturday night the house passed the healthcare bill 220-215. 39 Democrats voted no but all of these house Democrats voted for the healthcare bill even though they are expected to have competitive races next year. I hope you will join me in supporting these Democrats that voted for health care reform by donating on the page that I created on ActBlue.

I am less worried about the 39 Democrats who voted no. The important part is that the bill passed and it looks like when leadership knew they would get to 218 they released some of their members and let them vote no. I think it is more effective to support the Democrats who had a difficult decision but still voted yes. Without these 20 Democrats who are facing competitve races next year health care reform wouldnt have passed.
These are the 20 Democrats on my list please donate $5, $10, or $20 to some of your favorite health care Democrats.

At this time because i’m a bit short on cash at the moment, but trust me a couple of these guys will be getting a few bucks from me such as Vic Snyder and Baron Hill.
To my surprise Rep. Kosmas announced two days before the vote that she would vote nay. I have been hounding her offices ever since and even attended a protest at her Port Orange office the day of the vote. From her statements it seems obvious that this was a strategic vote. But why she thinks voting against health care reform will help her in 2010 I have no idea. I’ve made it clear that I will not vote for her next year if she also votes down the final bill.
And Periello is probably my favorite Congressman of the 2008 class. He consistently votes his conscience rather than doing what the beltway insiders thinks he should do to get re-elected.
Right now I damn sure would be more likely to work my ass off to get my congress member re-elected if I lived in VA-05 rather than FL-24.
